We look forward to providing coach's clinics, youth basketball clinics, mentoring opportunities, skill development "how-to" videos, etc. to help everyone involved with teaching and learning this great game.

2nd-3rd / 4th-5th Grade Program

2nd/3rd Grade:  LEAP Registration Season:  September - October

                          YMCA Season:  November - December

4th/5th Grade:   LEAP Season:  October - December

                          YMCA Season:  November - December

*Registration for LEAP is handled through the TCAPS - LEAP office.  For LEAP, you will be able to register online at www.tcaps.net/programs/leap or call the LEAP office at 231-933-6570 with any questions.  Please note:  you will be requested to create an Eleyo Account for registration purposes.  All transactions are performed safely and securely online.

Our 2nd - 5th grade focus will be on teaching the fundamentals of basketball, utilizing USA Basketball Guidelines, and simply having fun.  The girls will be introduced to the competitive side of the game.  Please review the following links for rules and program focus for each grade level.

In addition to having fun, there are basic fundamentals that all 2nd - 5th grade basketball athletes must be capable of doing in time for 6th grade.

*MAKE SURE GIRLS ARE PLAYING POSITIONLESS BASKETBALL.  PLEASE DO NOT PIGEON HOLE A PLAYER BASED ON HER HEIGHT, WEIGHT OR ANY OTHER PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTIC.  TEAMS SHOULD BE ORGANIZED SO THAT THE TALENT IS SIMILAR FOR EACH TEAM.

6th Grade Program

6th Grade:  LEAP Season:  January - March

Our 6th graders will continue to focus on skill development and having fun, but they will also be introduced to the MHSAA rules structure.  Games will be officiated by MHSAA officials.  The general offering will be 1-3 practices and 2 games (Monday/Wednesday) per week.  In addition to having fun, there are basic fundamentals that all 6th grade basketball athletes must be capable of doing in time for Middle School.
